Our CEO's Story

Hi there! Nice to meet you!
I'm Dawn Ferullo - founder and CEO of CareerTime.
I've been in the learning & development industry for a long time—more than 20 years. I started off in a corporate job, designing training courses at Fidelity Investments in 1999. There, I had the great opportunity to "learn the business of learning" while working with an incredibly talented and disciplined team of experts.
I earned my Master’s degree in Management and Organizational Communication from Emerson College in 2002. And in 2003, I branched off on my own professional path to begin freelancing as an instructional designer. Through freelancing, I got a sneak peak inside companies of all shapes and sizes. Talk about a crash course in business! I often felt like a fly on the wall, learning business lessons from great mentors and picking up best practices (and—just as often—what to avoid) along the way.
In 2012, I nervously took the next step in my career and launched The eLearning Company, a custom design and development shop for corporate training. I manage a team of amazing consultants, and together, we create innovative and practical training programs that help employees improve performance and adopt best practices.
In 2020, a year that turned most people's lives upside down and was economically devastating for many small businesses, I fulfilled a dream I've had since the beginning of my professional journey and launched CareerTime. With CareerTime, my goal is to ease the burden of small business owners—who usually need to know and do it all—by providing career-enhancing skills and knowledge for the small business community.
I don't pretend to know everything there is to know about operating small businesses—there is a lot to know. I pull from my own extensive experience, of course, but I also lean on experts and collaborate with fellow small business owners to bring high quality learning opportunities to the community. My philosophy is to keep learning, and keep growing. I believe firmly that every professional experience I've had—and even every misstep—has been a necessary prerequisite for where I am today. I hope you'll join me in the CareerTime community, and let professional development propel you—and your business—to new heights.
